So, today while looking at my Facebook page the same theme was on my news feed. I guess this is the most popular story this am. The one in which our gafftastic VEEP implores that the Taliban is not and has never been America’s enemy. What??!!??
So, let me get this correct. The Taliban, who rose to power in 1996 after the invasion and war with Russia. “Housed” and “protected” Osama Bin Laden and allowed Al-Qeada training camps in country after 9/11 isn’t a enemy…
The Taliban allowed terrorist organizations to run training camps in their territory and, from 1994 to at least 2001, provided refuge for Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda organization. The relationship between the Taliban and bin Laden was close, even familial—bin Laden fought with the mujahideen, has financed the Taliban, and one of his daughters is reportedly married to Mullah Muhammad Omar. The United Nations Security Council passed two resolutions, UNSCR 1267 (1999) and 1333 (2000), demanding that the Taliban cease their support for terrorism and hand over bin Laden for trial. According to a Newsmax Interview, this is what Biden – or as I call him O’Biden – said:
“The Taliban, per se, is not our enemy,” Biden told Newsweek. “There is not a single statement that the president has ever made in any of our policy assertions that the Taliban is our enemy because it threatens U.S. interests.
“If, in fact, the Taliban is able to collapse the existing government, then that becomes a problem for us.” (Source: Newsweek)
